Cash and check donations are gladly accepted.

Donations can be made in person at the library’s front desk.

Gifts can also be mailed to: 209 E. Center Street Madison, SD 57042.
Material Donations
- The Library welcomes gifts and donations, which enrich its collection and are greatly appreciated.
- The Library decides whether a gift can be added to its collection. Acceptance is not guaranteed.
- Materials may not be used if they are:
- Duplicates of items already in the collection
- Outdated without historical value
- In poor physical condition that makes processing costly
- All gifts undergo the same selection process as purchased materials. They are not considered part of the collection until formally integrated.
- The Library reserves the right to:
- Use, donate, sell, or discard gifts based on condition and usefulness
- Refuse any donation
- Conditional gifts generally require Library Board approval and may be declined if they:
- Require special housing
- Prevent integration into the general collection
